Russia plans to criminalize illegal trafficking in e-vape
According to foreign media reports, a proposal by the Economic Policy Committee of the Russian Federation is in the spotlight, and if the proposal becomes law, illegal e-cigarette smugglers could face three to seven years in prison.
Lawmakers are concerned about the proliferation of illegal e-liquids because they evade regulatory scrutiny, and it is unclear how much these vapes cost and the environment in which they are produced, posing huge health risks. Anatoly Viboni, deputy chairman of the Security and anti-Corruption Commission, supported the regulation, saying the measure would help protect the health of young Russians.
