Virginia court rules Reynolds can continue selling Vuse e-cigarettes

The U.S. court in Virginia recently rejected Philip Morris' request to ban Reynolds from selling Vuse e-cigarettes on the grounds that Reynolds violated its patent, and ruled that Reynolds can continue to sell Vuse e-cigarettes, but it has to pay patent royalties to Philip Morris International .

Virginia judge Leonie Blinkina stated that Reynolds Vuse Alto pods need to pay 1.8 percent of sales as a patent fee, and Vuse Solo G2 pods need to pay 2.2 percent of sales as a patent fee.

In the latest Nielsen Convenience Store Tobacco Product Sales Report, Vuse has a 42.2 percent share of the U.S. e-cigarette market.
